State Minister for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, H.E. Ambassador Birtukan Ayano and her delegation have visited Ethiopia’s joint forces at Gashena front in continuation of visits to conflict regions in the country to make donations.
Donations of over 55 oxen were made to senior officers in the army by the State Foreign Affairs minister and her delegation today saying it is a token of appreciation to the outstanding service of the Defense Forces and thanked them for the sacrifice they have been paying to the betterment of all Ethiopians.
Ambassador Ayano used the opportunity to intimate the defense force that just like the Ethiopian army is defending Ethiopia’s territorial integrity and stability, the Ministry too is doing its level best to protect the interests of Ethiopia on the diplomatic front, she added.
Officers thanked the Ministry for the thoughtful gift and appreciated the indispensable role of the Ethiopian diplomatic community in defending Ethiopia.
Earlier yesterday Food and non-food items worth about 4 million Birr were donated to displaced people in the Amhara region by Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Ambassador Birtukan Ayano and her delegation saying that the support is a testament to the Ministry’s solidarity with people affected by the conflict.
She told the displaced people in the Amhara region that besides representing the country in the diplomatic sector, her staffers are committed to supporting people suffering from the conflict between Ethiopian government-backed armed forces and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front – TPLF and its allies who have taken up arms against the Federal Government.
Ambassador Birtukan Ayano during her visit yesterday hosted soldiers encamped in Bahirdar to a dinner where she thanked them for their sacrifices and assured them that the Ethiopian-backed troops would prevail at last against the TPLF, she said.
Renowned singers, that accompanied the delegation, have also entertained the soldiers.
