A statement has been issued on Tuesday by the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra, -IPOB, to clamp down on distributors and consumers of Mkpuru Nmiri illicit drugs as well as other criminals that are terrorizing the southeast geopolitical zone.
In the threat statement signed by the Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Comrade Emma Powerful, he stated that the group has noted with utter displeasure, a very ugly and disturbing trend among some youths in Biafra land who have resorted to the consumption of destructive hard drug methamphetamine popularly known as” Mkpuru Mmiri.
The IPOB scribe while alleged that very ugly and disturbing trend among some youths in Biafra land who have resorted to the consumption of methamphetamine as the work of the enemies to render many of the Eastern youths useless after already killing many under the guise of fighting insecurity in the region.
Emma Powerful in his statement described the development as very strange and completely unacceptable said the group will not allow the trend to succeed and called on all youths in the various communities in the region to ensure they report those involved in what he called “madness” to IPOB office so as to checkmate it from creeping into the Biafra-land.
The statement also stated that “IPOB hereby declare war against this nonsense. We shall go after those taking or distributing this harmful illicit drug. Henceforth, anyone found peddling, consuming, or in any way involved in the distribution of this illicit drug shall be decisively dealt with the statement reads.
While stating further that “Biafran youths are known for their enterprising spirit, entrepreneurship, and diligence, the IPOB statement also added that it will not allow evil men and unpatriotic elements to ruin or destroy the future of its youths with Mkpuru Mmiri.
Communities who have already risen to curb the evil menace were commended by the statement, it also disclosed that it is the desire of Biafra to ensure that the youths of the region emerged as the best in the world and a role model for others in Africa.
