Super Eagles Striker, Ademola Lookman has won the African Footballer of the year award.
His three goals and two assists helped Nigeria reach the Africa Cup of Nations final, and he also scored a hat-trick in the UEFA Europa Cup final, leading Atalanta FC to victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
This season, Lookman has scored 11 goals and five assists in 18 appearances in all competitions for Atalanta, including a goal against record winners Real Madrid FC in the UEFA Champions League.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s senior female team, the Super Falcons, have emerged the CAF Women National Team of Year at the Confederation of African Football Awards.
Also, Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, emerged the Female Goalkeeper of Year at the same awards.
The 2024 CAF Awards took place tonight in Marrakesh, Morocco.
