An International Atomic Energy Agency team of experts has successfully completed an eight-day review of Ghana’s site selection process for its first nuclear power plant.

The review, conducted from February 14 to 21, assessed Ghana’s adherence to IAEA safety standards in selecting a suitable location for the project.

The Site and External Events Design Review Service mission was carried out at the request of the Government of Ghana and hosted by Nuclear Power Ghana under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition.

Welcoming the IAEA’s review, Executive Director of NPG, Stephen Yamoah highlighted the significance of the mission in shaping Ghana’s nuclear future.
