Ghana Launches Visa-On-Arrival For Festive Season Travellers

Date:

The government of Ghana has announced a visa-on-arrival policy to attract tourists during the festive season as part of its December in GH campaign. The initiative, which runs from December 1st, 2024 to January 15th, 2025 allows travellers to enter Ghana without pre-approved visas, thereby simplifying the process for visitors.

The policy is a key feature of the broader Beyond the Return campaign, designed to position Ghana as a prime destination for culture and heritage tourism. The Ghana Tourism Authority has described the initiative as a significant step in promoting the country’s vibrant cultural festivities and rich heritage.

In support of the policy, Transport Minister Kwaku Asiamah has directed airlines to update their systems to facilitate seamless travel for incoming passengers. The Ghana Tourism Authority has also urged tourists to take advantage of the programme to experience the events and attractions planned for the season.
